Staff & Volunteer Resources is working to make things simpler and more efficient. Effective today, the department name is changing from Staff & Volunteer Resources to People. This new name is easier to understand and easier to say.

While we have a new name, our department will continue to:

• Partner across the organization to support staff and volunteers
• Be responsible for payroll, benefits, compensation, recruitment, HR systems, health & safety, volunteer services, employee relations, and more
• Be located on the Concourse level
• Changing our name to People helps better reflect who our department supports (staff, volunteers, interns and contractors) and positions us for upcoming work including diversity & inclusion, leadership development, performance & development, succession planning, engagement and wellness.

To further enable this work, we are also making some changes to our People Team:

Congratulations to Alain Graham on his promotion from Staff Relations Generalist to Manager, Employee Relations. Alain has been with us since June 5, 2017. In his new role, Alain will have accountability across the AGO as the key Human Resources partner and consultant for employee and labour relations questions and issues. Alain’s professional approach and commitment to client service have allowed him to build strong relationships, which will serve him well in his new position.

Congratulations to Nathalie Sato on her promotion from Assistant Manager, Recruitment & Talent Management to Manager, Talent. Nathalie will continue to oversee recruitment in this role and will take on additional responsibilities related to diversity & inclusion, engagement, succession planning, leadership development and performance & development as part of our plan to offer more services in these areas in the future. Her focus on clients and creative thinking are assets she brings to her new role.
