Weekly Message from Our Director and CEO, Stephan Jost

Hello Everyone,

  • We had a jam-packed Town Hall on Tuesday. I was pleased to share details about priorities for the AGO over the next 10 years. For those who missed my presentation, it will be available on *Dartboard shortly.  I know you all care deeply about the AGO’s future. You are all part of where the museum is headed, and of the work involved to help us get there. Again, your feedback is welcome.

  • Also at Town Hall, Lisa Clements shared the exciting news about the Kusama crowdfunding initiative. Since we went public yesterday, we’ve received 865 gifts totalling more than $86,000! Help spread the word (Lisa will be sending an email that includes some tips on how to do it) and here is the donation link: www.infinityago.ca. The Kusama crowdfunding is being handled exclusively by the AGO and primarily through social media. It is a great example of the AGO’s brand – extraordinary content, smart and accessible, on point, future oriented.

  • On Sunday, I leave for Shanghai for 8 days along with the Contemporary Circle, a generous group of AGO supporters, and Kitty Scott. We have a full itinerary featuring artist and studio visits with some of China’s leading artists. It’s very important for us to acquaint ourselves and our donors with Chinese contemporary art and culture.

See you when I’m back in the office on November 12th. Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan

(*volunteers: we’ll share the 10-year vision on the blog and post in the volunteer lounge when it becomes available).
