Hello Everyone,

• Some sad news to share. David Campbell, a long-time trustee and generous donor, passed away yesterday. David contributed in so many ways, including supporting the naming of the Vivian & David Campbell Centre for Contemporary Art. He loved art, and he loved the AGO. Our thoughts go out to his extended family.

 

• Today there are two massive hurricane strikes in the Carolinas and the Philippines. I know that people have family in both areas, and I hope everyone is safe. It seems poignant as we install Anthropocene.

 

• We had several curatorial committee meetings this week and the range in quality of works being considered has been extraordinary. Thank you to everyone who helped prepare for these meetings. Much effort and planning is involved.
