From Here to the Getty: AGO Conservator to be Guest Scholar in Los Angeles

Congratulations to Katy Whitman, the AGO’s Conservator of Photography, who has been offered a fantastic opportunity as Guest Scholar at the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles. She will be taking on this prestigious role in April for three months.

Katy will be joining other scholars from a highly competitive international pool of applicants, from Portugal to Northern Ireland, Beirut and New York. While based at the Los Angeles institution, she’ll be studying the history and conservation of photographs on glass, while writing a book on the topic to be published in the future. This position will allow Katy to share and expand on the research and processes she has worked on for the last 12 years.

The guest scholar program provides an opportunity for professionals to pursue scholarly research in an interdisciplinary manner across traditional boundaries in areas of interest to the international conservation community.
