Prints & Drawings for November: Simply Dufy

This month P&D presents:  Simply Dufy

On November 10th, join Elizabeth Kohl for this month’s ‘Free Friday Talk’ in the Print & Drawing Study Centre. “Simply Dufy” is the theme this month and Elizabeth is a dynamic and engaging speaker you will not want to miss.

Raoul Dufy, 1877-1953, was a French painter who developed a colorful, decorative style. Dufy’s style became fashionable for designs of ceramics and textiles. In the words of Henri Matisse, Raoul Dufy’s art “Will live on!”. From Impressionism, Fauvism, Cezanneism, Cubism, to the creation of Dufy’s personal vision, history today reveals to us four new artworks that shine a spotlight on his textile and decorative art, illustrating that his brilliance is everlasting.

Elizabeth’s passion for her work in the Print & Drawing Centre is contagious! She engages with visitors during ‘Open Door’ on Wednesdays when her enthusiasm draws guests into the study centre and enriches their experience at the gallery.
