Welcome Back: a Fall Message from Volunteer President Shelagh Barrington

Dear friends

You are now settled back into your routines after having returned from the summer, such as it was! Some of you have sent the kids back to school or off to university hoping that whatever the transition, they will succeed. And currently the excellent fall weather is making trips outdoors a joy.

At the gallery, we are all stretching our skills and our knowledge for Guillermo del Toro now and Yayoi Kusama in the spring and a lot more in between. The Look Forward installations continues and the rich hues on the walls of the gallery are a spectacular background to our own wonderful art. We will meet and assist both returning members and new guests as these intriguing shows and installations draw them to our doors.

I hope many of you enjoyed the All Volunteer Events on Tuesday October 24 (the first event planned by your new Volunteer Executive Event Committee)! Assistant P&D Curator Alexa Greist, explored the vaults with you in the afternoon (and this was one of our last chances to experience her wisdom for a bit, as her life changes) and the truly exciting evening with landscape artist and colour alchemist Steve Driscoll  in conversation with Bill Clarke, Associate Director, Angell Gallery.

Continue to enjoy what you all do so well…. What needs to be done! Cheers!
Shelagh Barrington, Volunteer President
