Earlier this month, Volunteer and Staff Resources (SVR) and the Volunteer Executive Committee (VEC) hosted a Volunteer Recognition event honouring volunteers with 20 + years of service.  CEO Stephan Jost, along with members of the AGO leadership team, staff coordinators, and managers, gathered to celebrate in the volunteer lounge.  With the cooperation of the Wednesday volunteers, this daily home to the volunteers was transformed into a special events room with tablecloths, flowers, and goodies from Food and Beverage.

Stephan spoke eloquently about his appreciation of volunteers and their importance to the AGO community.  Staff introduced themselves and Stephan spoke with each volunteer as he handed them their certificates and pins.  Representing all departments, our 29 long-time volunteers include 18 with 20+ years, 10 with 30+ years and one with nearly 50! Including this event, SVR has this year handed out certificates and pins recognizing 124 volunteers with years of service ranging from  5 years to 49 years.
Please join with me in thanking our long serving volunteers for their passion and guidance. Bravo!  As Volunteer President I took this opportunity to thank staff for making the AGO a place we love to volunteer.
