Weekly Message from our Director and CEO

Hello everyone,

  • I hope everyone had a great time at this Wednesday’s barbeque! Great ice cream. A big thanks to Internal Communications, Food & Beverage, Facility Services staff and the Events Committee volunteers for putting it all together and making it happen.
  • A key priority in our Strategic Plan is to develop a long-term diversity and inclusion strategy to reflect the communities we serve. As part of this process, Leadership Team has been receiving inclusion training from a variety of professionals during the past several months. LT members Lauri Green and Judy Koke are working together to guide the strategy and plan for Gallery-wide training. Simply put: if we don’t do a better job of reflecting our audiences – in our staff, our volunteers, on our board, and through our programming – we will fail as an organization. We making progress and are heading in the right direction. This is reflected through recent hires, new board members, young and emerging artists who have works in Every. Now. Then., and an exhibition schedule that focuses on solo exhibitions by women artists, 70% of whom are indigenous or non-white.
  • Make a date at AGO Bistro!

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
