Weekly Message from our Director and CEO

Hello Everyone,

• The European reinstall is now well underway. The works look amazing against the vibrant wall colours, and the lighting is fantastic. Please be sure to walk through the suite of galleries and read the labels – you will learn a lot. Rubens’ Massacre of the Innocents was moved to a new location. This was a huge undertaking and I’d like to thank the many staff involved, especially Logistics & Art Services (LAS), for their great care in helping to ensure a seamless move.

• I am excited about upcoming fall exhibitions and programming. There is a great mix of shows that will appeal to a wide range of visitors. We are really pushing the bar in terms of exhibition design with del Toro, in particular – bring on the monsters!

• A big thanks to everyone for your patience with elevator maintenance. I am still a bit out of breath when I arrive on the 4th floor but it gets easier every time I climb up!

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
P.S. Here is a photo from our recent vacation above Davos/Klosters, Switzerland (where my parents are from) … we take our hiking pretty seriously!
