AGO Gives Back Update: Art Supply Donations Making a Difference

This past December AGO staff and volunteers donated more than 150 art supplies to support local non-profit SKETCH. We followed up with SKETCH to find out the impact that the donated canvases, paints, paintbrushes and more, have had on youth participating in their programs.

“This is the AGO’s second year supporting SKETCH through their annual arts drive,” says Sue Cohen, Environmental Arts Coordinator at SKETCH. “Our community really appreciates that kind of passionate, consistent support. It’s great to start every January with a refresh of art supplies: the artists are eager to splash their new ideas onto canvases after the holiday break, and the donated items ease up our budget so I can support new initiatives later on in the year. A big thank you to the AGO community for supporting SKETCH for so many years.”

SKETCH relies on donations like these to help engage street-involved youth through the arts. Thanks again to all of the AGO staff and volunteers who participated!
