Weekly Message from Our Director and CEO

moniqueHello Everyone,

  • I never imagined Baillie Court could turn into an après ski lounge! With a skating rink! Thank you to the Events Committee for organizing our annual winter party and to everyone who came to celebrate. Being at the party reminded me that there are a great number of people who work and volunteer at the AGO, and I enjoyed spending time with those I haven’t previously met.
  • Maria Sullivan toured me around Conservation lab on Wednesday. I met with the conservators, who are busy working with objects that will be on view as part of the AGO’s collection “new look”. Our job as museum professionals is to steward the collection for generations to come, and conservators are integral to this goal.
  • Mystical Landscapes has been extended to February 12th. The attendance and business outlet numbers have had a tremendous impact on our overall budget for this fiscal year, and Rocco and LT feel confident we will end the year in a balanced position. If you haven’t seen the exhibition yet, make time before it is too late!

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan

P.S. Monique and her senior kindergarten class visited the gallery on Thursday. Education Officer Lauren Spring was a pro!
