McCaul Street Entrance Closed Beginning Monday March 14 for Renovations

Henry MooreBeginning on Monday, March 14, preparation will begin to transform the currently unused Moore Ramp on the east side of the building by McCaul Street into a new, 1,200-square-foot gallery space next to the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre.

The staff and volunteer entrance at McCaul Street will be closed until the end of June. During that time, there will be two ways to enter and exit the Gallery:
· Through the Jackman Hall Pit doorway: Simply go down the Jackman Hall Pit stairway and swipe your card on the card reader by the door. (This entrance can be used by staff and volunteers, as well as visitors to Jackman Hall.)
· Through the main entrance on Dundas. This will be the only accessible entrance during construction.

Gallery Closures:
The Henry Moore Sculpture Centre will be closed to visitors from March 22 to the end of June, with none of the Moore sculptures on view with the exception of Henry Moore’s Large Two Forms on view at the corner of Dundas and McCaul Streets.
•The Irina Moore Gallery East will be closed from March 22 to the end of August
•These closures are necessary in order to protect the sculptures from the vibrations of constructions work.
•The Outsiders exhibition in the Irin Moore Gallery West will remain open and not affected by this work.

While the construction is ongoing, the Moore elevator will be unavailable for staff & volunteer use. There will be some noise disruptions in the Gallery as the work progresses.

The expanded gallery spaces will allow us to deepen visitor experience by:
· Presenting additional artwork by, and in dialogue with, Henry Moore
· Highlighting conservation as a key facet of the AGO’s work

More details will be confirmed and announced over the coming months. The project is currently expected to be completed by the end of August.
