Nuit Blanche this weekend!

The AGO takes part in Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2015 by co-presenting two works for its 10th anniversary, Each Portion by Lisa Myers and an occasion hosted by Isabel Lewis. Make sure to come by to be part of the celebration!

Each Portion, by Lisa Myers:

·     Lisa Myers, the AGO’s artist-in-residence, is an artist, musician and chef of Anishnaabe ancestry from Beausoleil First Nation. Her project engages the associations and memories triggered by food. This project invited AGO visitors throughout the month of September to contribute to an animation by experimenting with the absorption of blueberry pigment on wooden spoons. The spoons will be photographed for the creation of the animation, which will be on display for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche.

an occasion, hosted by Isabel Lewis:Isabel Lewis.jpg
·     In this work, Lewis uses dance to embody another way of being in the world. Lewis as the dancer becomes a host crafting the atmosphere and attending to her guests in a space that is imagined as a kind of indoor garden and meeting place. She draws from her training in literary criticism, dance and choreography, as well as popular culture.
During the night we’ll also be offering the AGO dot tours and some savoury bites from Food & Beverage, including chicken and waffle sandwiches and spinach and feta monkey buns!
