P&D at the Aga Khan Museum

On March 27, Prints and Drawings volunteers paid a visit to the Aga Khan Museum. Just about everyone was there, except a few who were on duty in the P&D Centre that day.

First, a tour of the collections …

… which lived up to the Museum’s online Mission statement: to serve as a window into “the artistic, intellectual and scientific heritage of Muslim civilizations across the centuries from the Iberian Peninsula to China.”

The group then enjoyed lunch in the Diwan, the Museum’s restaurant whose décor features 19th century wooden panels hand-carved and painted in Damascus. (The Diwan also features very good food, as they discovered.)
