You are invited to one of two staff and volunteer previews for the upcoming exhibition Jean-Michel Basquiat: Now is the Time.

The exhibition is in the Zacks Gallery, second floor. Remember to wear your volunteer badge to ensure entry (and a note for new volunteers: this preview is for staff and volunteers only; we’re sorry, outside guests are not permitted).

Tuesday, February 3
· Preview 2:00 to 5:00 pm
· Guided tour at 2:30 pm by Magdalyn Asimakis, Monitor of the Print & Drawing Study Centre – meet at exhibition entrance.

Monday, February 9
· Preview 2:00 to 6:00 pm
· Guided tour at 3:00 pm by Interpretive Planner Shiralee Hudson Hill – meet at exhibition entrance.

The installation timeline for Basquiat is very challenging (and very tight!); for this reason, despite the exhibition team’s best efforts, an evening/weekend preview could not be scheduled. The good news for all volunteers is that once the exhibition officially opens to the public on February 7, you are able to enter the exhibition whenever you’d like with your volunteer badge.

Organized by the AGO, Jean-Michel Basquiat: Now is the Time is the first major retrospective of Basquiat’s artworks in Canada. The exhibition runs from February 7 to May 10.

As is customary, free exhibition passes for volunteers to extend to friends and family will be distributed as soon as they’re available. We’ll keep you posted!
