Celebrate the opening of Before and After the Horizon: Anishinaabe Artists of the Great Lakes.

When: Wednesday, July 30, 6:30–8:30 pm / Remarks 7:30 pm

This exhibition celebrates Anishinaabe artists and their stories, showcasing artwork by leading modern and contemporary artists – including Norval Morrisseau, Bonnie Devine, Robert Houle, Keesic Douglas, Michael Belmore and Daphne Odjig – who sought to visually express the human relationship with the earth. also In addition, the exhibition features complementary artist projects by Bonnie Devine and Robert Houle.

The opening will also host the 2014 Ontario Arts Council Aboriginal Arts Award presentation to Christi Belcourt (Laureate) and Jaime Koebel (Emerging Artist Laureate).

Before you go to the opening, stop by the free staff and volunteer BBQ – the first one of the season. Enjoy a burger, then head into the opening in Walker Court for a complimentary beer. Admission is free.
