Weekly Message from Our Director and CEO, Stephan Jost

Hello everyone,

  • It was good to see so many of you at Town Hall on Tuesday when I spoke about recent exhibitions, acquisitions and the new access model. In my weekly message for the next several weeks I will start to call out our values, beginning with “lead with contemporary relevance.” We should seek to have our work be relevant to what is happening in the world today, whether it’s relating the growth of Toronto to the recent Impressionism in the AGO of Industry exhibit or technology and consumption with Hito Steyerl: This Is the Future.
  • Do take some time to enjoy Grange Park, which has become one of the most used parks in our city – certainly that was evident this summer! From the hawks to local community groups to AGO campers, it has been full of activity these past few months.
  • With an employee base of 600+, there are always new faces joining us at the museum. Welcome to those who have joined us in recent weeks. And thank you to those who have gone on or will be departing soon to other opportunities – we are grateful for your important contributions to the AGO.

Enjoy the long weekend,

Stephan
