Weekly Message from Our Director and CEO, Stephan Jost

Friday, July 12, 2019

Hello everyone,

  • I have been thinking about our office and work spaces, which have not been updated in many years (decades!). This all relates to how we collaborate together and the kind of organization we want to be – our internal culture. To gain a sense of modern work environments, Leadership Team visited LinkedIn and WeWork earlier this week and will continue to visit other sites throughout the summer. If you have any recommendations, feel free to bring them forward to your manager or LT member. This is not something that will happen fast.
  • The AGO’s first ever Culture, Diversity & Inclusion survey was launched earlier this week. It is available until July 30. All responses are entirely confidential and will help us to build our D&I strategy moving forward. Please do your best to complete the survey as your input is really important. Thank you!

(Volunteers please note: a volunteer version of the survey will be launching on July 31. We’ll keep you posted)

  • Julian, Heidi, Kitty and I have led numerous donor tours of the Jungen and Celmins exhibits in the past couple of weeks. The feedback is overwhelmingly positive. I encourage everyone to walk through when you can, and spread the news about our summer exhibitions. When you visit the Celmins show, can you tell which rocks are real? (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go and see the show!)

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
