Hello Everyone,
I am just back from Israel where I met the directors of the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. The AGO and the Israel Museum have a long history and share a collection of modern masters including works by Picasso and Matisse. They were given to the AGO by Samuel and Ayala Zacks in the early 1970s but are presently on loan to the Israel Museum.
The AGO Foundation Board of Trustees met this morning. This group of trustees does an amazing job of stewarding the AGO’s endowment holdings of nearly $90 million. Approximately $2 million from the AGOF will help support the AGO’s operating expenses for this fiscal year including named positions, education, and works of art acquisition. There are actually three boards affiliated with the AGO. The main one is the AGO board, which is the governing board; The AGO Foundation board, which stewards our endowments; and the American Friends of the AGO board, which provides an opportunity for American citizens and Canadians with American assets to make gifts to the AGO.
Go Raptors!
Enjoy the weekend,
Stephan
