AGO People – Heidi Reitmaier

A warm welcome to Heidi Reitmaier who joined the AGO on Monday, Feb. 11 as Deputy Director & Richard and Elizabeth Currie Chief of Education and Programming.

As a member of the Leadership Team, Heidi will help connect our visitors with extraordinary art and ideas as we work to become the imaginative centre of the city, reflecting the people who live here.

Heidi comes to the AGO from her role as Executive Director and CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Art Toronto (MOCA). Prior to assuming the helm at MOCA, Heidi, who is Canadian, served as the Dr. Robert N. Mayer Director of Learning and Public Programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) for 5 years.

She has previously held positions at the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Tate Gallery in London. An alumni of the Getty Leadership Institute Program, Reitmaier is a sought-after public speaker and has contributed to numerous publications including Art Monthly, Art Forum, Tate Magazine, Women’s Art Magazine, the Women’s Art Library and the BBCHer work was the recipient of the 2018 Education and Innovation Award from the American Alliance of Museums.

Reporting directly to Heidi will be Devyani Saltzman, Director, Public Programs, Paola Poletto, Manager, Studio & Group Learning, and Shiralee Hudson Hill, Lead Interpretative Planner.
