Weekly Update from Our Director and CEO, Stephan Jost

Hello Everyone,

  • There was a terrible fire at the National Museum in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil earlier this week. Several millions of irreplaceable objects were destroyed — it was an incalculable loss and a horrible tragedy. More so because it was attributed in part to the systematic lack of funding.

  • I enjoyed the opening night celebration and world premiere screening of Anthropocene: The Human Epoch last evening at TIFF. The film is beautifully shot with a clear message of human impact on our planet.

  • One the works from our Anthropocene exhibition is called Big Lonely Doug, an augmented reality (AR)  piece which will be exhibited in Galleria Italia. In a couple of weeks the app will be available to download on your smartphone or tablet to unlock the full experience of the work. It will be a big surprise!

Enjoy your weekend,

Stephan
