Weekly Message from Our Director and CEO, Stephan Jost

Hello Everyone,

  • Thank you to the Communications department who worked closely with Food & Beverage, Facility Services and with the help of the Event Committee, to organize this past Wednesday’s BBQ. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful afternoon and it was great seeing so many familiar faces. We have another BBQ scheduled for  Wednesday, August 22 from 4:00 – 6:00pm. Save the date!

  • With the final installation of the Rebecca Belmore show, all temporary exhibitions are now open and many of us are turning our attention to Anthropocene, a major exhibition of work by Edward Burtynsky, Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier. It focuses on the human impact on the environment and includes photography, film and new media. It will be the most technologically advanced exhibition the AGO has ever done and I look forward to seeing how the public embraces our use of augmented reality. Hint: for example, there will be a virtual rhinoceros in the exhibition!

  • The floors in Galleria Italia are currently being refinished, which is the prelude to more sculpture being installed.

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
