Dear Everyone,

With the public on-sale this week for Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors, the excitement is building to experience this once-in-a-lifetime exhibition. Demand continues to grow with the release of each new batch of tickets. At our busiest time this week, over 60,000 users were in the online queue for public tickets. With anticipation high, many of you may have been approached by friends, family and colleagues to see if you can get them tickets to the exhibition.

This show will be unlike any exhibition we have ever presented. Due to a very limited gallery capacity and popular demand, we expect this exhibition to sell out very quickly and we will not be able to offer the same type of access to staff, volunteers and interns as we have in the past.

If you are asked about getting tickets to the show, here are a few things you can say:

  • Recommend they get an AGO Membership. Members have the best opportunity for tickets and the next exclusive Members’ booking window is February 13 at 10 am. They can join or renew up until February 8.
  • Let them know about the next public on-sale on March 6 at 10 am.
  • Let them know that a very limited amount of same-day tickets will be on sale at the AGO every operational day at 10 am during the run of the show. The majority of Kusama tickets are only available online to make it fair for our visitors and to minimize outdoor lineups. Toronto weather is unpredictable especially during the winter.
  • Remind them if they can’t get tickets, they can still see Kusama’s work, Narcissus Garden on the second floor free with general admission. Narcissus Garden will be on view from February 24 until April 29, 2018.

This is a very exciting time for the Gallery and we hope you get the chance to see this amazing show. If you have any questions about tickets, please contact Kristoph Karbach, or call the AGO Contact Centre at 416-979-6648. Please stay tuned for more information about the Staff and Volunteer Previews in February.

Sincerely,

Herman
