Work is scheduled in Grange Park beginning this week to correct drainage issues in some areas of the lawn.

Although some corrective work was done before the park opened, silty clay in other areas of the lawn is preventing proper water drainage during rainfalls.

Approximately 40% of the central lawn area will be closed while the work is being done. It was scheduled for this month as the park is less busy. The work will include:

• Replacing the soil with a better draining high-sand content soil mix
• Re-grading areas of the lawn for better drainage
• Re-sodding

All other areas of the park, including the walking paths, will remain open.

The actual work will take approximately 1½ weeks, however temporary fencing will remain up for a couple of weeks after the work is complete so the sod can settle and take root to prevent future repairs.
