Hello Everyone,

• On Wednesday night 7,000 people visited the AGO, many for the opening of three important exhibitions. Rita Letendre: Fire & Light;  Now. Then: Reframing Nationhood;and Mark Lewis: Canada – all are amazing exhibitions. I loved seeing the public love the shows.

• Recently we have been in the global press a lot. Our Communications team is on a roll. Caitlin Coull, Carly Maga and Samantha Chater are doing a great job managing multiple news stories for the AGO including the news of the AGO’s purchase of 522 photographs by Diane Arbus (I will talk more about this acquisition in a future note), the opening of the summer shows, the announcement of the four new curators we hired this year, and the upcoming opening of Grange Park.

• Canada Day. I hope you can all enjoy the weekend and reflect on what Canada means to you. I also want to take a moment to thank all of you who will be working on this Holiday weekend.
