Weekly Message from our Director and CEO

georgiana-updateHello Everyone,

  • I took a sneak peek at the Georgia O’Keeffe exhibition in Zacks. It is incredible – 80 works by O’Keeffe for the first time on view in Canada and one of the largest O’Keeffe shows ever. I want to congratulate Georgiana Uhlyairk on leading this project, and I look forward to her Curators’ Circle talk on April 20th.  I think we will all be amazed by how our audiences respond to the show.
  • Yesterday, I walked through the modern installation in the Eaton/Gelber/Elliott galleries with the lead curators. This new installation was completed at a high level and we want to take learnings from this process (what did we do well? what could we do better?) and apply them to other installations to ensure they are completed at the highest level possible. Send me feedback!
  • There are more than 450 active volunteers at the AGO and close to 650 during peak periods. A big shout out to volunteers for the many ways you support our mission. In addition, volunteers also contribute financially through the Volunteer Endowment Trust. This year, funds available in this trust will support Look:Forward. Thank you AGO volunteers for your generous support of Look:Forward!

Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
