Welcome to our new Volunteer Executive – Introducing Susan Morrison, Evening/Weekend GG Representative

Susan Morrison

The Volunteer Executive Committee (VEC) welcomed four new members this spring.   We’ll be profiling them over the next few weeks so you can get to know the people who are representing you.  We’ve asked them each a few questions about themselves.  This week we hear from Susan Morrison, Evening/Weekend GG Representative.

What or who brought you to the AGO as a volunteer?

After a year of retirement from being a high school art teacher, I missed talking about art to people, and thought that the role of a docent/gallery guide would be a perfect fit for me. I have been involved with the AGO from childhood on, and have always thought it would be a great place to work in.

What area do you volunteer in and for how long?

I have been a gallery guide since 2011.

What is the part you like best about being a volunteer at the AGO?

Having conversations about art. I love being able to convey my love for art to others, to open up and expand on their level of comprehension for and appreciation of the works of art on display in the gallery.

Why did you want to join the Volunteer Executive?

Having been a guide for a number of years now, I thought it would be interesting to contribute at a more expansive level by joining the Volunteer Executive. I am interested in finding out how the volunteer organization functions, and to contribute to it in any way that I can.

Thanks Susan!  Stay tuned for more profiles!
