Artful Conversation for November: Representing the Real and the Imaginary

peter-doig-DOI-156

Taking an in depth look at  Peter Doig’s Cricket Painting and the adjacent Baroque bronzes, Gallery Guide volunteer Dolores Steinman will explore the use of the imagination in representing the real and the imaginary in visually stunning narratives that fit into the cultural context of their times. Story-telling, be it of ancient myths and legends or contemporary experiences and events, is brought to the viewer through a variety of techniques. A comparison of the bronze textures to the colour textures, for a more visually exciting effect, will also be on the menu.

When: Friday, November 11th – Meet at 1:30 in Walker Court

Gallery Guide: Dolores Steinman
