Hello Everyone,

I experienced my first Nuit Blanche on the weekend. With nearly 24,000 people pouring through our front doors in one night, the magnitude of the event was obvious. Thank you to everyone who helped make things seamless – it takes a huge amount of effort and coordination to pull it off. I was particularly impressed by the respect visitors demonstrated towards Rebecca Belmore’s performance in Walker Court. It was very special to witness.

On Monday, I spent most of the day with the curators discussing their plans for the re-installation. We are 90% there. From this point onward, the curators will work closely with interpretive planners and exhibitions staff.

The Premier’s Awards of Excellence in the Arts were held at the AGO on Wednesday evening. Christi Belcourt – whose work is on display in the Bovey Gallery – won the award for the Individual Artist category. Congratulations Christi!

I have taken a number of visitors up to the Zacks Pavilion this week to view the installation of Mystical Landscapes. The quality of works is astounding – there are truly extraordinary paintings to behold. The show is going to be amazing.
