You may have heard that a new gallery space is opening soon, and we’re excited to confirm you can visit it this weekend!

Adjacent to the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre, the new 1,200-square-foot exhibition space will be open to the public on Saturday, October 1.

In March 2016 the AGO began renovating an unused space located above the Jackman Hall entranceway ramp. This empty space has been transformed into the new gallery, which is located near the Irina Moore East gallery.

Curated by Kenneth Brummel, the AGO’s Assistant Curator, Modern Art, the space features 13 works from the AGO collection. The captivating pieces on display illustrate how abstract sculpture developed out of the fragmentation of the human body. Sculptures by Henry Moore will be showcased along with works by Rodin, Picasso, Hepworth and more. Visitors will get an inspiring glimpse into how Moore was influenced by the works of others.

When you have a moment take an art break, and visit this stunning new space!
