Hello Everyone,

  • On Monday, I viewed ivory works in the Thomson Galleries. Adam Levine shared some of his deep knowledge on the topic and I encourage everyone to take a moment to look (or re-look) at this collection. The 500-year old chess pieces are exquisite.
  • I continue to meet with AGO trustees to hear their thoughts about the AGO. There is no lack of passion! It is obvious they care about the Gallery and are keen to adapt to new technology and ways of doing things so that we remain relevant to our audiences.
  • I met with the interns who are spending their summers with us. I believe that we should all encourage the next generation.
  • On Wednesday, I attended the Teacher Preview. Thank you to Carrie Swartz and the PP&L and Visitors Services teams for providing a warm welcome to teachers. Their involvement with us is crucial, and the slate of fall school programs is compelling. More than 40,000 children visit the museum annually for tours, which is very important.

I am away next Monday, back on Tuesday. Enjoy the weekend,

Stephan
