Grange Park Revitalization Project Making Great Progress!

The Grange Park has undergone a number of changes since construction started last March on the revitalization project.

Please take a few minutes during your break or lunch hour to walk along the new east-west path that connects Beverley Street to Grange Road near the south side of the park. Here are a few things to look out for:

·         Check out the new trees, sod and plantings that are being added to the park – they make quite a difference!  By the end of the project, 70+ new trees will be planted in Grange Park.
·         New custom-built play equipment by Earthscape is being assembled on site, a multi-stage process that will run through to next spring. Click here for a recent Toronto Star article about the play equipment.
·         A large circular base has been formed for Henry Moore’s Large Two Forms near the west side of the park. This new location provides a 360-degree unobstructed view of the sculpture in a beautiful natural setting surrounded by mature trees. Its ground-level base will enable full access to the work for people in wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
·         Two new washroom buildings are being constructed at the southeast corner of Grange Park close to the children’s play area.  One building will house two individual-use washrooms; the second building will be a family washroom.
·         A new maintenance building is also being constructed near the washrooms by Grange Road.
·         At the south-west side of the park, you will be able to see the location for the new fenced-in off-leash area for dogs, covered in Fibarengineered wood fibre. This area will remain open to the public until the project is completed. It will then be fenced in for the dogs’ off-leash area.
