Hello Everyone,

 

• Last Friday night, I enjoyed my first Blue Jays game. I finally got to wear my Jays hat (actually our daughter stole it), thanks!

 

• At this week’s Leadership Team meeting, we talked about the AGO brand and what it represents. We will be having more conversations about who we are so that we can communicate this better to ourselves and to the public.

 

• I attended a number of Curatorial Committee meetings this week. Important work happens as we talk about accessioning, de-accessioning, and how we want to shape our collections for the future.

 

• Yesterday, I met Hon. Michael Coteau, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, and attended Question Period at Queen’s Park – wow, what theatre! While there, I met 4 additional Cabinet Ministers. It’s reassuring to know that the AGO is meaningful to key decision makers. Always remember that 40% of our budget comes from the public.

 

• I went to First Thursdays last night. It was exhilarating to see the Gallery enlivened through a mass of bodies, pulsating music and various art interventions.
