Volunteer Executive posting – Secretary

We are looking for a volunteer to join our executive committee in the role of Secretary.

Duties:  The main role of the Volunteer Executive Secretary is to provide a timely and accurate record of discussion and decisions at the meetings of the Volunteer Executive.

In this role, you will take notes of discussion among roughly a dozen people during the monthly meetings of the Volunteer Executive. You will use these notes to produce Minutes, with each Agenda item clearly and appropriately summarized (while still retaining all essential points from the discussion). Past experience is an asset (as well as a good eye for detail!)

The Secretary produces a first draft of Minutes for Volunteer Executive (VE) members review, comment and approval; makes any necessary changes, and circulates the final copy to all VE members via email.

 

Commitment:  You must be able to attend the monthly meetings of the Volunteer Executive. These meetings are routinely held on the first Thursday of each month, (rare exceptions apply) from September – June.  The Volunteer Executive does not in July or August. Meetings begin at 4:45pm and run until 6:30pm. This is a two-year term, beginning September 2016.
