Volunteer Booklet Celebrates 70 Years of Volunteering

A Message from Debbie Kennedy, AGO Volunteer President

Hello Volunteers,

I’m excited to share the launch of our “70 Years of Volunteering” Booklet with you. Some of you may have already picked up your copy at the Volunteer Annual Gathering. For others, copies are provided here. Please take one!

So why do we need a Volunteer Booklet? First of all, the last one was published 10 years ago, and much has happened since then, so it was time to update and celebrate our volunteer placements and committees. Secondly, 70 years of volunteering at the AGO is a huge accomplishment, and something we wanted to mark and celebrate, in a lasting way. It’s a tribute to the contributions of our volunteers, the Volunteer Executive, and our staff coordinators.

This was a project that as Co-Presidents, Ann Wilcox and I discussed and mapped out, at length. One that was near and dear to us both, and I know that Ann would be proud of it.

As I have often said, I couldn’t have done this without you, so “Hats Off” to everyone who helped out: the Volunteer Leads in each placement area for contributing placement summaries with the help of their staff coordinators, Staff and Volunteer Resources and the AGO Design Department, for coordinating the publishing of the Booklet, and our Editor, volunteer Penny Williams, for her eagle eye!

Warm Regards,

Debbie Kennedy

Volunteer President, on behalf of the AGO Volunteer Executive

Please take a Volunteer Booklet if you wish! These copies have been provided for you to keep.
