Hello AGO Volunteer Community!

I have recently started in my new position as the Assistant, Recruitment, Training and Volunteer Programs, where I will assist in providing administrative and first-hand support to the volunteer program. I will be here to help with any questions or needs you may have, and am looking forward to doing so! Please visit me up the stairs in the Staff & Volunteer (SVR) offices – my desk is next to Holly’s.

A little bit about me:  after completing a degree in International Development & Communications at McGill University, I worked at Toronto Hydro as an IT Queue Manager, until deciding to attend Humber College to complete a post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management.

I completed an internship at Head2Head Recruiting Agency, before landing the recruitment and selection internship with the Gallery. I have now been working at the Gallery for the past year, administering the benefits and pension plans for staff.

As an HR professional and active volunteer, I bring a wealth of skills to my new roles in SVR, and look forward to working with the AGO volunteer community. My passion lies in the film world, so I have been a longstanding volunteer at TIFF and several other film festivals. I have also volunteered at women and youth shelters, community gardening initiatives, and other charity-focused events. Volunteering is essential to strengthening a community and promotes civic responsibility; when you are passionate about where you volunteer, it is that much more rewarding.
