The Margaret Machell Study Grant for Volunteers
When the Women’s Committee of the AGO was inaugurated in 1945, Margaret Machell was appointed as the staff person to work with the committee, an association lasting 25 years.
Margaret was greatly respected by both the committee and the staff and they were pleased to see her become Keeper of the Grange, a position she held for 12 years. After a career spanning 42 years, Margaret retired as Gallery Archivist.
In honour of her service to the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Volunteer Committee established the Margaret Machell Study Grant.
