AGO staff and volunteers got updates on the upcoming Alex Colville exhibition and got to know more about the folks at the Contact Centre at the most recent Town Hall meeting, held May 21.

Alex Colville Exhibition
*      The exhibition’s narrative is primarily thematic, revealing the repeated themes that appear throughout Colville’s career.
*      Each section is punctuated by a provocative pop culture pairing to focus the visitor on the key idea being explored.
*      This approach honours the artist’s impact and legacy by addressing the continuing relevance of his work.
*      By focussing on Colville’s relevancy, our aim is to engage a younger audience, and offer surprising moments for those more versed in his life and work.

Intro to the Contact Centre
*        The Contact Centre is a department in the AGO where staff provide customer service, processing tens of thousands of transactions each year.  They answer phones, sell and process memberships, exhibition tickets, tickets to classes, lectures, camps and family programming such as birthday parties and Yoga classes. They arrange and book school visits for teachers and adult groups.  They also reply to emails and provide service solutions for our patrons.
*        The Contact Centre was created because there were two separate and distinct areas in the AGO that were answering thousands of phone calls and processing thousands of orders.  In an effort to streamline processes, share some common workloads and improve communication, both groups were brought together in one location.  These two groups were Membership Back Of House and Program Sales and Services.
*        Our sales lines for membership and program sales are open 7 days a week, from 9am until 5 pm on weekdays and 10am to 3 pm on weekends. Our switchboard is open 5 days a week, from 9am until 5 pm.
