The deadline for the Margaret Machell study grant has been extended to September 1. Past recipients have enrolled in courses at U of T’s School of Continuing Studies, art workshops, and Museum Studies programs, as well as conferences. Courses or conferences subsidized by the Margaret Machell study grant should aid the volunteer in his or her work at the gallery. Further details below:
Each year, the Margaret Machell Study Grant, administered by your Volunteer Executive (VE), is offered in financial support for an art-related project. The project might be a course, workshop or conference – something that would develop your skills, expand your knowledge, and enhance your work as a volunteer here at the AGO.
The grant amount for any given year is $500, and applications are reviewed by a three-person staff & volunteer committee. The committee may award the full $500 to one person, divide it among several recipients, or instead roll the sum forward to the following year.
