Temporary Closing of the David Milne Study Centre for Floor Repair (anticipated reopening: no later than December 21, 2012)

What is happening?

  • We are closing the Milne Study Centre to the public today – December 6 –  so that we can re-level flooring near the vertical art storage cabinet.

 When will it reopen?

  • We anticipate reopening no later than Friday, December  21.

Why is the floor being redone if it is relatively new?

  • A portion of the floor in front of the case is not level and is impacting the operation of the archive drawers.

Why does this have to happen now?

  • We wanted to complete these necessary repairs before our annual holiday traffic.

Will the adjacent Greenfield Thompson gallery be impacted?

  • The space will be completely accessible to the public while the work is happening.

Are the works in the space being removed?

  • Yes, we are removing the works as a precaution only.

How are our visitors being told?

  • We will have signage in place and our frontline staff will advise visitors upon entry.

Thanks,

Mike
