How to Use the AGO Volunteer Website

The AGO Volunteer Website features a news Blog, the Chatter interactive forum, plus a number of other pages (e.g. Key Dates, Strategic Plans, etc.) with current reference material about policies, contact numbers, placement descriptions, and more.

To get around, you can use the red site menu to the right. Rest your mouse on a title to see a pop-up description of the content on that page; click on the title to go to that page. This menu appears on every page, so you can quickly move to any other page.

BLOG

When you navigate to http://volunteers.ago.ca, you will automatically be taken to the Blog page, which is also the home page for the entire website.

This page contains short, dated posts with news about people and activities that affect and interest volunteers at the AGO. The most recent post appears at the top.

You can find posts in a variety of ways.

  • To view the most recent posts: either scroll down the page, or click on a title in the Recent Posts list to the right.
  • To view older posts: click on a heading in the Categories, Archives or Tags lists, also on the right. This will call up related posts in condensed form. To then read the full post, click on its title
  • To see what posts exist on a subject that interests you: type a name, title or topic into the Search box below the site menu, and then click “Search.”

CHATTER

This is the place to exchange ideas with fellow volunteers, share information about your own upcoming exhibitions or events, list books and films you’d recommend, and more!.

  • To read items: click on Chatter in the site menu.  Once you’re on the Chatter page, click on a forum heading (eg. AGO Chat) to see a list of posts, then click on a post to see the details.
  • To contribute or reply to items: email Oona at [email protected] to receive your own individual password and how-to instructions.
