Volunteer Endowment Trust supports Prints and Drawings program

prints and drawingsThe Volunteer Endowment Trust Committee is delighted to announce the recipient of the 2016/17 Volunteer Endowment Trust monies.

Volunteer Committee members, Joy Bullen, Laurie Herd, David Gibson and Debbie Kennedy met with Development Associate William Craddock, back in December and discussed the funding opportunities for the coming year. The Volunteer Executive Committee then voted at our March Board Meeting, regarding which proposal should receive our support this year.

The Volunteer Executive chose Out of the Vaults: Works on Paper at the AGO First Thursdays.

As William explained in the information package he prepared for us, “The Prints and Drawing program brings rarely seen works out of the vaults and into an intimate viewing experience that surprises and delights visitors”.

Displays will occur once a month on First Thursdays, beginning in April, and running until March 31, 2017. Each month a different theme will be featured. The VE Committee is excited that the Volunteers of the AGO will be credited as the singular sponsor for this program, which aims to engage Toronto’s young cosmopolitan audience ( a segment target of the AGO volunteer strategic plan).

Many thanks to William, the whole Philanthropy and Development team, and to the Volunteer Endowment Committee, who came together to discuss these initiatives, and help the Volunteer Executive decide where to allot our monies this year.

This is a program that I think all the volunteers will be proud of. All the best,

Debbie Kennedy, Volunteer President
